This page gives information about the various competition events and categories. There are links to specific competition results at the side of the page. New links will appear as latest results are posted. If you find any inaccuracies or omissions in the awards listed please contact Mr Lloyd.

 

 

Competitions

 

Heart of England hold a number of Regional Competitions each year. These are usually open to all students within the stated categories. The list of events is constantly developing. Heart of England will operate categories and judge the competitions in accordance with ITF Rules and Regulations.

 

 

Categories and Disciplines

 

Each competition usually has the following categories and disciplines;

 

Junior TKD (4-6years) - Usually split into groups according to age (4 year olds, 5 year olds, 6 year olds)

 

Running Race

High Kick

Competition Drill or Pattern

Standing Long Jump

 

Juniors - 12 Years and under are split into groups according to height & grades

 

P -         Peewee -   Up to and including 4'6"

L -         Light -         Over 4'6" to and including 5'

M -        Middle -      Over 5' to and including 5'6"

H -        Heavy -       Over 5'6"

 

Peewee boys and girls may compete against each other in all events. Juniors above this group compete in separate boy / girl events

 

High Kick - All grades compete together

Speed Test - All belt categories compete together

Patterns - Usually split into Dan Grades / Belt Colours unless insufficient entries

Sparring - All categories spar continuous. Usually split into Dan grades / Belt Colours  unless insufficient entries

Musical Patterns - all categories (juniors and adults) compete together - usually requires an additional fee

 

Cadets - 13 to 17 Year olds inclusive - Male & Female - Usually separated according to ITF weight and grade categories

 

Patterns - Usually split into Dan grades / Belt Colours unless insufficient entries

Sparring - All categories spar continuous. Usually split into Dan grades / Belt Colours  unless insufficient entries

Destruction - Boards (Hand and Foot Techniques as per ITF competitions)

Special Technique - Open to all belt categories. Usually split into Dan grades / Belt Colours  unless insufficient entries

Musical Patterns - all categories (juniors and adults) compete together - usually requires an additional fee

 

Adults & Seniors - Male & Female - Usually separated according to ITF weight & grade categories

 

Adults - 18 to 35 inclusive

Seniors - 36 and over

 

Patterns - Usually split into Dan grades / Belt Colours  unless insufficient entries

Sparring - All categories spar continuous. Usually split into Dan grades / Belt Colours  unless insufficient entries

Destruction - Boards (Hand and Foot Techniques as per ITF competitions)

Senior Categories now apply to all grades (subject to sufficient entries being received)

 

Patterns Competitions - Competitors can perform any Patterns up to their grade.

 

 

The final in a Patterns Competition will involve a designated pattern chosen by the judging panel.
