We are a family run group of schools based in North Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire with Schools in Mansfield, Forest Town, Rainworth, Sutton in Ashfield Pilsley and Clay Cross .

We practice the Chang Hon I.T.F. form of Taekwon-do as developed by Grand Master General Choi Hong Hi 9^th Degree.

We are members of the regional group Heart of England-ITF  Taekwon-do, co-ordinated by Mr Gary Bradshaw 6th Degree, Grading Examiner and International Referee. 

Heart of England-ITF TKD Schools are Partners with UKITF and England ITF. As such we comply with the Rules and Regulations

of these associations as well as the Rules and Regulations of the British Taekwondo Council (BTC) through which our Instructors

are CRB Checked, Insured and Fully Qualified.

What is Taekwon-do

Taekwon-do is the scientific use of the body in the art of self defence – a body that has gained the ultimate use of its facilities through intensive, physical and mental training.

Taekwon-do originated in Korea where it has evolved from more than 2,000 years of martial arts forms including Tae Kyon, the Korean art of Foot Fighting.

Taekwon-do was developed during the last century to its present form by General Choi Hong Hi 9th Degree.  A General in the Korean Army he introduced the art to the Korean Military where it become part of the basic training for the armed forces.  It was officially named

Taekwon-do and recognised as the Military Martial Art of Korea in 1955.

Fitness and Self Development

Taekwon-do is the sport and workout of the new millennium for 7 year olds to the over 70s. For the 4 to 6 year olds there's an early start in Junior Taekwon-do.
